The journey to the Lakshmi Keshav Temple, situated approximately 4 kilometers from the MTDC resort, Ganapatipule was a delightful experience. The road leading to the temple is well-maintained, with minimal traffic, making it easy to find. As you approach the temple, you'll be transported back in time to the 15th century, thanks to its remarkable architecture.

The Lakshmi Keshav Temple is a true gem, entirely constructed from wood, including its dome. One of its most captivating features is a perennial water fountain. It's believed that this water flows directly from the holy feet of Lord Vishnu, adding a touch of divine serenity to the surroundings.

Delving into the temple's history, ancient records reveal a fascinating tale. During the Mughal invasion, the idol of Lakshmi Keshav was hidden in the depths of Rankal Lake for its protection. In 1510, it was eventually enshrined in this temple. The idol stands at an impressive 5 feet in height and is crafted from stone. Lord Keshav is depicted with four hands, each holding a Chakra, Gada, Padma, and Shankh. The sequence of these weapons serves as evidence of his identity, and there are 24 different names associated with his incarnations based on their arrangement. The intricately carved idol is a sight to behold, with depictions of the dashavtar adorning the surrounding décor.

The atmosphere surrounding the Lakshmi Keshav Temple is nothing short of serene. It's cocooned by tranquil forests, making you feel as though you've stepped back in time to the 15th century, except for the attire and language of the priests and devotees.
Visiting this ancient temple nestled deep within the lush Konkan forest was an absolutely remarkable experience. The sense of wonder and awe that enveloped me as I ventured further into the forest, following winding paths and the faint echoes of history, was truly unforgettable.

As returned from the temple, the dense foliage gave way to reveal its weathered yet majestic facade. The temple's age seemed to seep from every stone, and I couldn't help but marvel at the intricate carvings that adorned its walls, each telling a story of centuries long past.

Inside, a hushed reverence filled the air, as if the very spirits of those who had worshiped here over countless generations lingered in silent vigil. The flickering oil lamps cast dancing shadows on the ancient idols, invoking a sense of timelessness that transported me to a different era.

The sound of rustling leaves and the distant calls of forest creatures added to the temple's mystique, as if nature itself paid homage to this sacred site. It was a journey not only through space but through time, a connection with the past that left me humbled and grateful for the opportunity to witness such a hidden gem in the heart of the Konkan forest.
